If the B18 head is original to the motor (are you sure it's a B18 head--40mm intake valves and umbrella type seals?) it will have a stock compression ratio of 10:1 (higher with the larger B20 bore-and higher still but not by much - with an additional .020"). The B18 head you already have prepared can be used but you will definitely need premium gas - and maybe octane booster. Volvo used to have an extra thick head gasket to help in that regard. -- Dave
