Hi,

Very questionable as there are no sensors for fuel leaks per say? The fuel leak would have to be fairly large to make the engine go jump on a very lean code!

There is a code number for that, so did you get the code out of memory?

This car has a OBD ONE system. It’s a manually forced readout on a little box out on the left fender.
You plug socket lead into number “two” hole and push a button for a few seconds and a light blinks in pluses.
A Bentley manual has all the information and FAQ’s can help.
You can play with it until you get the hang of it.

Now that I got you entertained, don’t expect it to be more than what I call a “shotgun blast” affect on any details of what it was.
The pellets of a shotgun can hit so many areas on the side of a barn, you will ask yourself, what now?
The closest code that says, rich or lean malfunction. No specifics!
A little Vacuum air leak or to a glitch in some major component but it’s not sophisticated.
They didn’t spend the money to get it there or the technology of getting it there, Back then, was about an equal coin toss!
OBD II got going with more clean air mandates and finally some standardization of the foot stomping on the right necks took affect!
Same goes for the electric car charging platforms.
Cords or not, induction pads with embedded power strips in highways or parking lots?
Finally, exchanging out power packs with any standardized, on them, when they don’t even know what battery flavor to go with to establish a future configuration?

Be thankful you can work on your vehicle, without two computer technicians to pay for.
This is before another one gets his hands dirty cleaning or greasing a wire in a connector!
Then by chance getting charged for a part that goes into a mechanics tool box to troubleshoot another customers car with the same problem, later.
Today, it’s a slush fund for a soft knock education with the geeks!

Keep thinking and just listen to the cars habits, it will talk to you more!
It’s like the smell of that gasoline with that leak.
It has some German parts and they have their vay’s!

Phil
