I try to do something smart every day. Usually I include something stupid to balance it out.
The ohm readings were on a bench, but they were the GAUGE sensor!
After a while I remember that the ECT is the one in the hellish location behind the flame trap. I removed the throttle body and the flame trap and the sensor. I had a new sensor already so I went ahead and installed it. The old flame trap vertical hose was split ( vac leak ) and the throttle body was the dirtiest I have ever seen.
New ECT sensor.
Clean throttle body.
New flame trap hose.
Car idles smoothly. Smoothly!
I learned something new today; Installing a new vertical hose on a flame trap is a PITA for due to clearance, and my old arthritic fingers. I took my long 90 degree Harbor freight needle nose pliers and pushed it in the flame trap.
EASY! Woo Hoo!
