The K cam has the SAME seat to seat timing as the old C cam, but it is bigger everywhere else. It will beat the A, B, C & D cam everywhere from idle to 5000rpm. It is more accurately ground. It is kind on the valve train, particularly on the seats, VERY important if the head is ported because once you wear out the seat in a ported head you can't fix it. You are forced to go to a slightly bigger intake valve, which is not always the right way to go, ESPECIALLY on a street engine.
KG Triming use to sell the K for B30A/E/F and claim 25 more BHP. B30A/E/F all use the C as standard, essentially just the compression & intake system are different. (This just shows you how bad the dog legged log manifold that the B30A (and B20A) manifolds are.)
If you are ever putting a new cam in, make it a K or better when using stock springs. If you have an old cam with CWC Made in the USA on it, they are GREAT for a cheap regrind, but you generally have to keep the LSA in the 110°-112° but that's what you want for stock to mild donks anyway.
The older cams have lobes that are too wide & badly located + I have seen them break at the rear across the oil relief hole.
