As far as the injectors I doubt you will blow anything up.
I’m no expert on these but they all do operate in the same manner.
I would check the resistance of the coils with an ohmmeter for a comparison of confidence that they are close and made for a Volvo if the source is unknown to you.
Try to find pictures of the engine in the model year to see if they can show you the color of them in a stock vehicle.
They are probably color coded for fuel delivery amounts or spray patterns in some way to the pulse widths applied.

The factory isn’t the only one that use the disclaimer line, “subject to changes.” Who knows what a PO may have done, like you even? (:-).
The plastic caps are more for protection from getting carbon on the tips and use to come with some “O” ring sealing kits for the body holders into the manifolds.
I found one missing once years ago and never knew it from the way the engine ran, but I know nothing past that!
