Hi,

It’s on top of the steering column above the foot pedals in fact it’s tightly fastened with a metal clip under there. Harder to get put back in place so I leave it parked within the harness area.
If you have cruise control it will be near that black or silver box, as I remember?
Last one I saw was blue in color. It has an opening on one side to let sound out.

Do not disable it but wrapping it with tape will deafen it down a whole lot.

I use some dense black foam tape used as insulation for refrigeration piping to keep the pies from sweating. It was almost too much.
It a case of wrap to suit a purpose, like Christmas packages, you know what’s in there.

It best to leave in the car working as it’s a forgotten key reminder.
I agree it’s to darn loud and I’m a little hard of hearing, even with my hearing aids off but I’m working on misplacing things. 🤔
