ABS struts Vs non-ABS struts? 900

Dear OwenF,

Hope you're well and stay so! I can't recall having seen a non-ABS strut housing.

That said, the hub's format is not relevant, as the strut housing and hub are separate parts, i.e., the strut housing and the hub have separate part numbers. That said, I think you're correct to posit that the stub axle's length could be different.

I have a set of used strut housings for ABS-equipped vehicles. I'll measure the stub axle's length and report my findings.

For the sake of clarity, the part you seek is not a "strut", which term refers to the front suspension item with an hydraulic cylinder, that periodically must be replaced. The part you seek is the "strut housing". It has no moving parts and - absent collison damage, neglect of a failing hub, or severe corrosion - rarely needs to be replaed.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
