164 and 240 / 260 series sunroof seal - NOT ScanTech! 140-160

I meant Scandix. FCP (Groton) Euro sells the sunroof seal kit you don’t want. However, looking on IPD and FCP sites today, I see they’re offering a “Genuine Volvo” seal. The FCP site shows only one seal (presumably the front). IPD now has the “Genuine Volvo” front and rear seal. The Scandix isn’t showing up on the IPD site today. Neither site has the rubber seal that goes directly behind the rear seal. I’m not sure what the rubber seal does. Maybe it’s a cushion against rattles when closed. Maybe it deflects wind-blown water to the sides when the sunroof is open. Maybe both.

I used 3M black “super” weatherstrip adhesive. I worked sections of 8-12” at a time. I used masking tape around the outside edge of the sunroof opening to make a clean edge. Otherwise, the glue makes a mess and is difficult to remove (even with the 3M remover). Glue the front seal slightly lower than flush with the top of the opening. Otherwise, it will protrude above the surface when the sunroof is closed.
