Re: Front end rebuild ALL

Have had no dealings with IPD poly bushes so I don't include them in my comments, they might be fine. However (and I'll probably get shot down in flames, but this is my personal experience) I and everyone I have encountered who have used poly bushes (not just Volvos here, too) have had trouble with them, after not many thousands of miles, such as noise and seizing of the sliding parts (even when properly lubricated with special grease) to the degree where the boss (welded to the suspension A arm) which takes the bush has been torn out, rendering the arm useless. Problems seem to evolve from the ingress of water, mud, etc. leeching out the lubricant and/or causing "stiction" between the rubbing surfaces. Some also increase noise/vibration/harshness levels (e.g. the large bush at the front of the rear trailing arm). I stick with the standard suspension bushes for normal use - any (dubious) benefit of poly bushes for road use is easily outweighed by the problems. They're only worthwhile aplication seem to be in areas where there is minimal rotational movement, such as at the ends of front sway bars.
