I own a 1985 740 turbo

where do I start....hmmmm......

1. Well my dash backlights don't work. All the worning lights work. I have checked the fuses and the bulbs. Can't find the problem.

2. The turbo presure gauge is stuck between black and yellow. turbo as far as I know still works fine.

3. The heater won't blow. Air travels through fine just no fan.

4. I have a ticking when I excelorate but not when I an crusing. Not sure what it is but think it could be heat shield vibbrating.

5. Iratic idle. I changed my plugs and wires and then my idle jumped to 2000rpm. I have turned down to idle but now it seams to go up and down, mainly from 900rpm-1200rpm. but will occationally jump to 1600rpm. My fuel filter is over due for a change but is that all that could cause that?

6. After a long drive if I look at my exaust manifold it glows. Is that normal for a turbo car?

7. the moonroof will not close properly from being fully open. it gets most of the way closed but it gets stuck on the metal deflector? I think that is what it is. Is there a way of fixing this?

8. I am only getting 17 mpg this doesn't seem right. any suggestions?

This car has 160 000 miles. I have put 35 000 miles on the car in the last year and a half. Any suggestions on further upkeep?
