Bushing Replacement in the Barn 140-160 73

I'd like to replace some of the bushings on my 142. I've seen threads here over the years related to just such a task. I think I remember Mr. Foster talking about using oversized sockets - appropriate to the size of the bushing - a little persuasion from a mallet - to help push the bushing out. Or something like that. I can build jigs (cradles, carriages) to hold just about any part - have access to a small press, and sockets (and the like) can be bought, or similar items fashioned.

Any thoughts on this, or any other methods? I'm interested in improving the ride of the car. Maybe the 245 as well...someday.

Thanks.
