I wouldn't reccommend hotwiring your OD to stay on all the time. The OD is essentially a separate automatic transmission mounted to the rear of your tranny. If it is constantly engaged you will eventually experience a (what appears to be) failure of your transmission. You may slip out of gear, or fail to engage a gear at all. My guess is that you have a bad OD relay.(or possibly a switch). I just got done re-building my laycock OD and I can tell you, avoid premature re-builds if you don't need one! Good luck
