I strongly suspect that once you get the speedo out and open it up

it will be obvious why it won't go past 57 mph. I'd guess an adhesive

failure on the paper cover of the indicator roller.

Anyway look at it yourself before taking it to anyone else.

Hope you are not troubled by vertigo or serious neck problems.

Getting the cotton picker out and back in will be by far the hardest

part!
