Cat. question, I have to ask 700 89

I recently checked my catalytic convertor by disconnecting it at the front and visually inspecting the innards. The ceramic matrix was nice and dry with no clogged holes. The one anomaly was that a 1 square inch section in the middle of the flow path was displaced back about an inch. I wrote this off as being O.K. since it was not displaced enough to clog anything. Does anyone think this would be a problem?
