My 1992 240 wagon takes forever to start in the morning, no matter what the weather (typically 55 degrees here now). Upon reading this invaluable forum, i have replaced both the fuel check valve and the pressure regulator, to no avail. the car also has a new fuel filter, fuel pump relay, in-tank pump, plugs, rotor & cap, and AMM from previous maintainance. Once the car starts it runs perfectly all day until the next morning. it usually coughs and backfires a slight amount, and it generally smells of fuel - thats when i know it is about to finally start, usually right before the battery is about to croak. This is driving me crazy, can anyone offer any more suggestions? thanks very much!
