Hot start problem: Need experienced insight 700 92

I have a 1992 745t. 120k miles. Mechanically well maintained. This morning after filling up with gas at a station half way to work (commute to work is 14 miles one way) the car would not start. Usually I only have to turn the key and the engine starts almost immediatly and idles fine. Today it would only start after several second of cranking with the accelerator pedal partially depressed. Once my foot was taken off the accelerator pedalthe car would die. I was able to get to work without any problems. My brick would idle fine at stops, smooth as usual, and it ran with all the power and smootheness it usually does at all speeds. Once at work, I stopped the motor and tried to restart it. Same problem: it would only start and stay running with the accelerator pedal partially depressed. Car would die upon removing foot from pedal. Went out to car during lunch to check it (cold motor). It started easily just by tuning the key. I did not need to push the accelerator pedal. Actually, it started fine several times. We have owned the car for a year. During this year of ownership I have experienced this same problem on two other occasions. Today, however, I experienced a great deal more trouble getting the car started. What could be wrong? I checked out the 700\900 FAQ section relating to intermittent hot start problems. I plan on replacing the RPM senson (most likely cause of problem????), and checking the FI Relay and Radio Supression Relay like the section said. Does this sound logical? Could it be the IAC since it seems to start and run OK with the accelarator pedal depressed\ throttle above idle? Any other ares to invistigate? Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
