Re: testing coil 1800 64

Run a spark plug wire from the coil secondary to a position at least

1" from any grounded metal and crank the engine. If the spark jumps

1" your coil is probably OK.

I'm running the original coil in my 66 122 wagon, probably the

same coil you have. It has no moving parts....

(Things can go wrong with them but other things are a lot more

likely, including wires, points, advance mechanism, point cam,

ignition switch.......ad nauseam
