As Bob said, under a valve cover nut. These wires help ground the engine and reduce radio interference. Surprisingly, because of the short wavelength of FM radio waves, the heavy duty ground cable lower on the block doesn't help much with these high frequency interference signals. The engine can act as an antenna and radiate interference. These grounds help damp out that electrical noise.

Other than a bit of noise on very weak FM stations, your car is none the worse off.
