I have a 1985 240 dl. I am planning on buying a new radio and all new speakers. Problem is wiring for the rear speakers. The radio is mounted in the upper location and has the antenna on the front left pillar for the roof. The antenna wire for the power antenna is ran along the left side all the way to the trunk but not in use. I wanted to try and use this to pull the speaker wires through to the back. But, it seems that this antenna wire is rather tightly pack into where ever its rounted. Hence, how do you remove the black plastic covers that hold the carpet down in the doors. (not on the door, but on the car in the "door hole") Also, anyone with experience know which side is better to the wires on, passneger or drIver? I'm just going to run the wires this way. Another question: I have the analog tuning am/fm/cassete and want to use the power wires for the radio but not the speaker wires (going to run all new, even to doors). Which color wire(s) are the power wires? Yeah and one last thing. How do you get the speakers out of the doors? Do you have to remove the whole interior door panel? Thanks much.
