Re: Another Idle Problem 200 1985

On Saturday, I decided to go to a junkyard to look around. Finally after a year of looking I found a left rear taillight that is in good shape, however, the right one was gone. For another $50.00 I will keep looking for that right one. While there I thought I would pull the in dash temperature gauge since I had replaced the other two components just to give it a try. I got home installed the light assembly and the used temperature gauge. This may sound strange but when I started it up after changing the temperature gauge the idle went directly to 700-750 rpm. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but it worked for me. I drove it Saturday about 80 miles and the temperature hand stayed at 9:00. By the way, the tail pipe was gray when I made the post to the board. This gauge seemed to have solved my problem. I am happy I like reading this board. I have learned a lot about my Volvos (85 240 DL, 92 940 GL). My Volvo dealer hates this board. I can see why, I have become less dependant on them. More money in my pocket and a great running car. Thank you all for the fine posts. Keep 'em coming.
