account for the dead battery. A jump start is not a great way to diagnose a problem. I would start with a recharged, or fresh battery, and try it again, as a jump does not always turn the engine quickly enough, depending on jumper cable connections, and the size and length of the cable. If you get it started with a fresh battery, and the alt light stays on after shut off, disconnect the battery (to keep it from going dead), and repost with the details. MK
