Fuel Gauge Problem 444-544 63

My fuel gauge is rapidly fluctuating from empty to full every few seconds.

You can hear the needle begging over to full, momentarily then back to

empty. Does the car have a voltage stabilizer located somewhere? I had the

tank sending unit out for a fuel related problem but can't see how that

caused this situation. How is the sending unit grounded? Through those

several mounting screws? Any suggestions?
