I'd set it up with about 60° dwell or as close as you can get.
If your point cam is worn you won't be able to get that much.
If you have vacuum advance, leave it connected and set it to
about 21-24° at idle. This is a simplified method because
disconnecting the vac advance is a pain - it strongly affects
idle speed, raising it if you don't plug the hose or slowing it
down if you do. It works fine for me. If you get pinking you
might want to back it off a degree or two. BTW I'm using 87
octane or what ever is cheapest. (Still $0.999/gallon in Bartlesville)
