I've got a 760 (88) and love it. I also enjoy fixing anything, and with the resourses in the FAQ's and the help of other bricksters I've fixed every glitch that the car had. If your afraid of repairing power seats, mirrors etc. it may not be for you. As for diveability I believe the drive train is made up of the same components as the 740.
