big oil leak....$$$ to fix, no fire!

For several months the 87 760T has been leaking a little on the water pump....figured it could wait, plus the car is now my brother in law's and he's a few bux down so oil is cheaper than parts.

Turned out to be a bad trade off when the leak went splatter and covered a lot of stuff with oil, luckily it didn't catch fire on the turbo.

New cam seal fixed it, BUT, it also involved replacing the front, back, and bottom timing belt plastic covers, all three v-belts and the timing belt (which only had 20K on it), and the piece de resistance...the $190 list induction hose from the AMM to the turbo compressor inlet...OTOH, the slightly leaky turbo charger seals may be hitting hot oil on the compressor bypass hose from the bypass valve to the induction hose and causing the induction hose to fail. The hose was last replaced at 140K 5 years ago, car has 220K on it now.

Bottom line was close to $400 in parts, including the local volvo club discount, from the volvo dealer. Man, those volvo V-belts are expensive. On the other hand, they last for 60K if they don't get oiled like these did....

Moral of the story is FIX THE $#%@#$% LEAKS NOW!
