WD40 is a water-displacing formula (hence the initials) but it is

NOT a corrosion preventive. If you have further problems I recommend

you scrape the connectors clean(bright), put them together good and

tight and then lacquer, coat with clear fingernail polish, etc.

BTW I spent 22 years in Panama where I was the proprietor of the

most aggressive natural atmospheric corrosion site in the world,

the Fort Sherman Breakwater. I know about that stuff! Atmospheric

saltfall ranged from 3-6 tons/acre/year.
