Yes I think so. I'm no littlr about electronic memory but think that type of memory needs electricity to maintain its charge, and the charge bleeds out slowly if it doesn't have power. The time varies depending on the memory. My VCR can be unplugged for about 20 minutes before loosing its memory. The most likely thing is that your not getting the constant power. Check the green with a voltage tester. I have no idea what circuit that wire is one but it could be the fuse. Also a lot of sterios have their own inline fuses. I'd check that one too
