Those U jts Don mentioned give a bunch of wierd symptoms such as you mentioned. One of the families 700 series feels like there are lumps when you turn it. Daughters 200 series felt like the power steering wasnt working. All because of the U jts. Have had luck lubing the heck of them and they go again. New ones are rediculous. Have also removed them and soaked them in lube (oil etc.)
