Fault codes ??? 200 88

Hey everyone!

My car is still doing it's coughing/sputter thing.Someone yesterday mentioned that I should check for any fault codes from the diagnostic unit. Where is this dianostic unit located on my '88 245? What am I looking for? Numbers?
