Ok I have an 84 turbo with intercooler new to me. It has been messed with before. I think the waste gate tension is set way too high. If I step on it the turbo gauge goes right into the red, I hear pinging and then the fuel injection starts cutting out. I assume this is the overpressure safety switch kicking in. I assume I should be able to floor it without the psi going too high; thats what the waste gate is for right? How high should it go? Is the red zone taboo? Saab APC would sure be nice.
