can you see inside the resonator? I just thought it was an empty can, an expansion chamber with no baffles. If I happen to be right, installing the resonator back-to-front should be just as good.

I replaced a resonator with straight pipe on my '76 245, and noticed no difference, but I'm not especially sensitive to NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) issues.
