For what it's worth, an electric fuel pump with a pressure regulator set @ 3.5 lbs, is worth 2 full seconds a lap at the old-layout Texas World Speedway over the stock mech. fuel pump in my G-production Spitfire. Regulating it to 2.5 Lbs w/eletric pump was better than stock, but not as good. 3.5 lbs is higher 'than the book', but races do more and better maintenance, and you should get the carbs set to handle the higher pressures.

I autocrossed that car with the stock mech. set-up for years without any problems, but racing is different.
