'Tonio: I had the same problem: my mechanic sometimes gets a little exuberant (or is irritated from a previous customer's attitude, etc.), and he over-tightened my filter. Next oil change, he had a hell of a time getting it off, and broke a connector of some kind...it was a little too cramped for me to see it, but he wound up backing-out a small fitting (sorry I can't give you its technical name, he was trying to get me out of there for his next customer and wasn't his usual blabby self, plus he was a little embarassed that something he did had gone awry). As I recall, there is a large nut that holds the tube that carries oil oil into and out of the filter, and THAT was where, or next to where, this small connector broke. It seems to be fixed now. All he could say, after the repair was done and new filter was installed, was that he would tighten the new filters down 'hand-tight' in the future, and then use a filter wrench to add about 1/4 to 1/2 extra turn, and for me to check my driveway for any signs of leaking. So far, so good.--PD. (BTW, Mobil-1)
