I would start simple.
1. Remove the extra foam from the airbox(check out the turbobricks web site).
2. Install an electric fan.
I think for the money this would be your best bet for starters and the least obtrusive. See where you stand then move on from there. As always make sure everything is in good working order before taking on any modifications. There are all sorts of super cheap modifications out there on the net(try the tractor pulling center and turbo bricks and bad bricks for info).
