The new light weight "Bondo" type fillers will out perform the life of the car and lead. They can safely be used in place of lead. Check with your local body paint supplier for some of the best performers. Rage make a great line of fillers. (Hint, don't use the Bondo Brand)

You might consider lurking over on the Autobody forum, URL below. It's a great place to learn body repairs from some real pro's.
