Tom,

It would seem that your mechanic could best address your fears. Did he explain what contacts he cleaned?? If not, did you ask him? It would seem inappropriate to try to second guess a mechanic who managed to get his customer's car back on the road for what was probably a very small amount of money. Just ask him to take the time to explain it to you.
