BOTH of your choices have made it onto the Consumer Reports "Used Cars to Avoid" list (April issue).

I don't think the issue is "build quality" rather it is durability of components. They were both well crafted automobiles when they were new.

There have been numerous Volvo recalls of late, you'd need to check the VIN.
