Just to fair to the dealer I have seen on my 740 substantial corrosion on the rod directly under the bushings. A loss of material here would certainly result in decreased structural integrity. See if that is what they are referring to. They are probably just trying to cover their rear ends. Can you see the attorney holding up the fractured rod and comparing it to the new part following your loss of control that sideswiped the school bus!?? You get the picture.
