I just replaced the strut rod bushings (poly) and washers on my 744Ti when I had new tires put on. I believe I had the same noises you are referring to: popping and clunking noises when turning into a driveway or going over speed bumps. The new bushings solved the problem and the front end is quiet again! (Tires are nice, too!)
