Hood Hinges 1800 1973

So what about those hood hinges?

I have a '73 ES that I picked up a couple months ago; It's a project waiting to be started, so for now I'm just driving around on nice days with it.

One of my hood hinges, (passenger side) seems "sloppy" - I'm not sure if it's a failing hinge, or the metal that the hinge is attached to that is failing. What's the "usual pathology"?
