Timing belt tensioner

I would agree with Sargent.

Yet, when I change my timing belts I like to take off the tensioner and check its operatoin. Checking for good bearings, good alignment with head (my old tensioner had deflected from the head and caused the belt to ride forward and be partially eatten up).

hope this helps
take care
