It's not that expensive to rebuild a turbo and install it.

The diesel engine used in the Volvo 240 is a VW/Audi engine. Can't blame Volvo except for their decision to use it. The V6 engine was a neat design, but it's the result of a joint project between Renault, Peugeot, and Volvo, so not an "all-Volvo" engine like the red block 4.
