I found my Flathood in the ipd classifieds a couple of years ago. It was sound but "edgey" as my regular mechanic would call it. Mostly DIY stuff. I ended up selling it to someone who had the time and inclination to restore it. I see a couple for sale almost all the time but prices have risen sharply. Be careful for "clones". My favorite clue in a real flathood is strips of reflective tape on the underside of the hood over the turbo instead of an underhood blanket.
A regular 242 is easier. Mine was actually a tradein at my local Volvo dealer. They had complete history on the car and it had under 70K mi 6 months ago. I consider that a better find. Dealer wanted to get rid of it and we agreed on $2K. I am more inclined to modify a non collectable.
