Hard starting 700 1989

I am also having a hard starting troble with my 1989 740 GLE w/B234 (and AW72 Automatic), Would I follow the same guidelines as this previous post? My problems only occur when it's kinda cold outside.... When it's really cold (read-snowing) it's usually fine.... when it starts to get a little warmer, it doesn't like to start when cold... if it's warm-hot outside, it's fine aswell.... Also, I can't seem to better 16MPG with it either... It's rated EPA miles per gallon is 18MPG City, 24 MPG Highway... (as gotten from www.fueleconomy.gov) I had already change the coolant temperature sensor in the car, but it seemed like it helped a little bit, but still never got "good" mileage.... I also have a new timing belt, oxygen sensor, and recent plugs/wires/cap/rotor... The car seems to have good power... And i'm not expecting all that good of highway mileage with the gearing that's in it!!! Oh, and it also backfires sometimes when i press the gas pedal hard... It only has 79,000 miles on it... had the computer changed recently because the car wouldn't go over around 1500 RPM.. like a rev-limiter kicked in...
