Chris, I have tried to adjust the TPS and was confident that I was doing it right, but maybe not. What is the correct procedure? On one hand, I've heard that the set screw (stop screw) should be set such that w/ that Idle Control Valve hose blocked the car should idle at 500 RPM. The idea being that the Control Valve isn't responsible for all the air that needs to flow through to allow the car to idle at 750 RPM. On the other hand, I've heard that the stop screw should be set so that the butterfly valve should almost be all the way closed (in other words, just a 1/4 - 1/2 turn from closed) and that the control valve shouldn't have any problems regulating idle within spec. Which is the correct procedure?
Also, I've been setting the TPS adjustment with a feeler gauge between the stop screw and the arm of the throttle shaft, and have set so the click occurs between 0.05 mm and 0.10 mm. Is this the correct way of setting it? And are these the tolerances that you use when adjusting the TPS on your cars?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Ben
