Car died w/o warning

Ooops, 82 244DL manual. It just won't turn over and like I said I can hear the fuel pump briefly as I try to start it. As I came to a stop this afternoon it just died. Dash lit w/ nothing else. Any ideas? I did check & change both fuel pump fuses(they looked fine but I did it anyway)Thanks
