760 flame trap? 700 1989

hello.

I recently changed the aw 71 on my 760, when doing so I noticed that a hose was unhooked going from the vacuum tree at the top rear of the motor (b280) down to a tee at the lower driver side wheel well. the end was hardened and cracked and i shortened the hose about an inch and reattached. It has held in placce but my throttle response was very poor and I was misdiagnosing some of this to the tranny replacement. (adjusted kick down cable 10+ times) When I remembered this, I unhooked the sucker and my 89 760 v6 is running much better. A large oil leak at the timing chain gasket has calmed way the hell down too. Does this engine have a flame trap like the faq refers to for 4 bangers? Where should I check?

BTW, while running no response to thumb covering open outlet on tree so I would presume it is plugged somewhere in the vacuum system.
