Different Dash assembly? 700 1988

I've come up with an interesting idea...... changing the whole dash guage cluster for something that looks better..... Wiring may be hard, yes, but it's nothing i can't do..... has anyone ever done this before? I Looked at an old 325 88 model at the local wreakers that has a good guage set in it and a LURVE the look of that tacho in the BMW, it looks real neat, better than the crappy volvo one! Any help on this? Anyone know?
