sounds like a dead battery not an alternator. Take out the battery in the parki9ng lot of the local ManicBoys shop, take it inside and have them do a battery test. I bet you a glass of Merlot that they willfind it dead. Buy a new one (your choice0 and install it. make a note that 4 years from now you will have a DejaVu experience.
