We've been driving an 88 740 Turbo Wagon (5spd) since the early 90's. We've got about 175,000 miles on it. Probably has several years left in it, but its time for us to update. I looked at a few of the 850/V70 wagons. My first impression was positive (especially after driving a 97 R), however logic and good experience is pulling us back to RWD.

We want the straight 6 960 or V90. Are there any years to avoid or seek? What year did they switch from the V6 to the S6? My wife was told by her friend (must! be reliable information) that 95 (which they owned) was a bad year. Comments? Thank you.
